Eight international teams have been invited to participate in the inaugural Winston-Salem Cycling International Crit Challenge.
The Winston-Salem Cycling International Crit Challenge will take place October 24th-26th, 2021 in North Carolina. Already announced in February, USA CRITS and the UK Tour Series promoter SweetSpot have partnered to bring over the men’s and women’s winners of that prestigious criterium series taking place in August. Joining the Tour Series champions will be six men’s and women’s criterium teams from Canada, Mexico, Italy, and Belize.

Invited international teams will race a showcase event Friday night in Winston-Salem’s Innovation Quarter on a course surrounding the Gears and Guitars Music Festival taking place in Bailey Park. Racing against the international teams on Friday will be a select group of invited domestic criterium teams. Following those races Friday night, #D1 teams will compete in the USA CRITS Finals.
The International Crit Challenge will be held Saturday and Sunday. All 25 USA CRITS #D1 teams will join the international squads for two-days of crit racing for a total prize purse of $14,000.
